Cloth Diapers - How Many Do I Need?
Back to all our Baby Gear Resources
Cloth Diapers - Some Great Tips
- Newborns: 6-8 diapers per day average
- Infants: 7-8 diapers per day average
- Toddlers 7 diapers per day average.
- Liners: Two per diaper for nighttime, one per diaper for daytime (two if you have a heavy wetter).
- Determining how many cloth diapers you need on a daily basis can be very important in determining how many Fuzzi Bunz you need to purchase. Average moms/dads launder their cloth diapers every other day. In this case, a minimum of 16 diapers should be purchased in order to avoid running out of clean diapers. To be safe, ordering 20 diapers, or a 20 diaper package from Leslie’s Boutique, allows you a few spare clean diapers to carry in your diaper bag and diaper stacker.
- If purchasing cloth wipes to use in conjunction with your Baby Bits Wipes Solution, the suggestion would be 2 cloth wipes per diaper you have available. As an alternative to buying cloth wipes, we have found that using microfiber towels (sometimes sold as soft garage towels for washing cars) are a fantastic alternative. Just cut into six small squares and voila! You have plush, soft cloth wipes.
- Another use for microfiber towels — fabric softener sheets. No more throwing out “Bounce” or “Snuggle” sheets. For those who are environmentally concerned, use those small cut pieces of microfiber towels with a tablespoon of liquid fabric softener and you have an economical and efficient fabric sheet.
