- Your baby is a small thing but the speed at which he will grow will astound you all the time. Sometimes you can underestimate the power that a small baby can have. You may feel that your child will not be able to move or topple over certain items in the house. Never make that assumption because it is always better to be safe than sorry. Secure all the heavy furniture to the wall so that no untoward incident can happen.

- Hot surfaces may actually feel nice and warm in winter and your baby may not realize how close or far he should stay. Sometimes babies tend to get too close for comfort and then they remove the hand only when it is too late and the burn has already happened.

- Some adventurous babies also try and maneuver their way up and down the stairs because they do not realize whether they can do it or not. Make sure that you have staircase gates that can be used so that your child may not topple over by mistake.
