Bridal Shower Appetizer

At home bridal showers are a perfect occasion to serve your favor “finger food”! Choose from your favorite  appetizer and create a menu of appetizers for your bridal shower guests.  Appetizers make serving at the shower a lot easier.  No need for setting the table or sit down serving,  just create beautiful platters, decorated with fresh flowers or wedding accessories and wait for the “ooh’s and “aah’s” !

Here’s a great tip: Have your guest each bring an appetizer recipe and a gift that can be use to make the appetizer.  Your gift can be  a beautiful recipe box complete with your shower recipes and the recipes of all the bridal shower guests.  Choose from some beautiful recipe boxes like this Maple Recipe Box with  acrylic lid provides access to the file and protects the recipe card that’s being used, and see it too!

Marinated Goat Cheese

1 C good quality olive oil
2 bay leaves
6 black peppercorns, crushed
1 T dried thyme
1 T dried basil
4 garlic cloves, minced
2 logs of goat cheese

Slice the goat cheese logs into fifths and place in an oval gratin dish (or other rimmed dish). Combine the olive oil, bay leaves, peppercorns, thyme, basil and garlic in a small saucepan and set over medium heat. Cook through, stirring occasionally until fragrant and hot.

Pour the hot oil over the goat cheese and let cool to room temperature. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 4 hours before serving.

Serve with crostini.

Slice goat cheese easily with a length of dental floss. Finished dish can be stored up to one week in the oil marinade.
